The University of Göttingen will host the 2nd DPG Fall Meeting on Quantum Physics, jointly organized by the DPG sections SAMOP, SKM, and SMuK. The 2025 edition also celebrates 100 years of quantum mechanics and the United Nations’ International Year of Quantum Science and Technology.
Dr. Keith Fratus, Senior Expert Open Quantum Systems in the HQS Research Stack, will give a talk titled “Evaluating Useful Quantum Advantage in the Calculation of Molecular NMR Spectra” on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, 15:10–15:30 (room ZHG006, Industry Day, track WED-ID 6: Quantum Hardware, Software & Solutions). The presentation outlines our approach to determine when quantum computing could truly outperform classical methods for predicting molecular NMR spectra by modeling the accuracy and computational cost of leading classical approximations across system sizes and target accuracies. The work is a collaboration with Nicklas Enenkel, Peter Schmitteckert, Andisheh Khedri, Juha Leppäkangas, Michael Marthaler, and Jan Reiner from HQS.
If you are attending in Göttingen, we look forward to meeting you at the session.
