HQS at the APS Global Physics Summit 2025

HQS is contributing to the APS Global Physics Summit 2025, which will bring together over 14,000 physicists from around the world in Anaheim, California, from March 16 to 21, 2025. This joint event combines the traditional APS March and April Meetings, providing a unique platform for interdisciplinary collaboration in physics.

As part of the program, Benedikt Schönauer and Rolando Reiner from HQS will present advancements in quantum simulations and algorithm development:

Benedikt Schönauer will present “Effective spin-bath models for real solids and molecules” in the session Quantum Embedding: Methods on March 17. This work introduces a new approach for describing spin interactions in quantum chemistry and materials science.

Rolando Reinerwill present “A system-bath quantum thermal gradient descent algorithm for local minima search” in the session Circuit Optimization and Compilation on March 18. The study explores a new method for energy minimization in quantum computing, which could be applied in both NISQ and error-corrected quantum devices.
