HQS present at the Q2B22 Silicon Valley

Q2B, the premier conference for practical quantum computing, is bringing the quantum community together for the sixth year in a row. This year, the Silicon Valley edition is taking place in person at the Santa Clara Convention Center on December 6-8, 2022.

Dr. Michael Marthaler, HQS CEO and Co-Founder will give a presentation on Applications of quantum computing in spectroscopy on the 8 Dec, Hall A, 1:40 pm-2:00 pm.

Abstract: In particular, the chemical sector benefits from the application of Quantum computing. The simulation of microscopic phenomena governed by the laws of quantum mechanics enables new dimensions in the study of, for example, progressive pharmaceuticals.

One of the tools that are used to analyze materials down to their most microscopic level is spectroscopy. Predicting spectroscopic data by using simulation is already widely used. However, since this can create the need to solve the laws of quantum mechanics on conventional computers, there can be substantial limitations to what is possible.

Quantum Computing is going to open up in the chemical sector a multitude of unprecedented possibilities. Currently, only noisy intermediate-scale quantum computing (NISQ) is available with a high error consumption. But the alternative approach from HQS to the existing variational algorithm integrates the decoherence as part of the algorithm. This enables using noisy intermediate-scale quantum computers (NISQ) for quantum simulation.
