QSolid is coming to a close after nearly five years of collaboration between research institutions, companies and start-ups across Germany. Coordinated by Forschungszentrum Jülich, the consortium has developed and tested quantum computing demonstrators, strengthened the connection between hardware and software, and contributed to a growing German quantum ecosystem.
HQS Quantum Simulations contributed to QSolid through its work on application benchmarking and co-design. Our team developed and evaluated quantum-computing approaches for simulating Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectra, with a particular focus on understanding the effects of noise and device limitations. This work helped assess how quantum hardware can support meaningful applications under realistic conditions.
For HQS, the project provided valuable insights into the potential of quantum computing for NMR and advanced our work on application-focused quantum technologies. The knowledge developed within QSolid has since contributed to further innovations, including solutions for NMR-based materials analysis.
